As the Turkish Education Association, for 96 years, we've stood by our children in times of need, and we pledge to continue this support for years to come. Our responsibility to them is unwavering.

\nLet's unite to support the education of children who have lost their parents in the earthquake, shielding them from its devastating effects and safeguarding the future of our nation. These children are not orphans today, and they won't be tomorrow.

\nFor this cause, our association has set the scholarship fee at 25,000 TL to assist children grappling with the loss of a parent. While the exact number of students in need will be confirmed by official institutions soon, our donors can extend their support through regular or one-time donations, aiding as many students as they wish.

Work Undertaken Within the Campaign <\/h2>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Acute Period Initiatives<\/b>
\nIn response to the immediate aftermath of the disaster, we provided extensive aid to the affected region, including delivering 43 trucks of relief supplies. Collaborating with local partners, we established three kitchens and a bakery to provide food and shelter services to thousands of people, utilizing our local school facilities. Additionally, we organized a toy campaign to address the needs of affected children. Nearly 1,500 students impacted by the earthquake were transferred to TED Schools in different provinces, receiving psychosocial support and assistance with educational materials and clothing.
\n
\nStudent Identification and Needs Assessment<\/b>
\nIdentifying and addressing the needs of children who lost their parents posed significant challenges during the aftermath of the disaster. Through meticulous efforts, including the establishment of advisory boards, volunteer teams, and employing professional staff, we worked to identify scholarship recipients and assess their needs accurately. Special attention was given to children with disabilities among the supported students.
\n
\nTED Disaster Support Team<\/b>
\nThe TED Scholarship Students Directorate oversees the administration of scholarship programs and provides ongoing support to beneficiaries. A team of 11 experts, including psychologists and counselors, is responsible for program management and student monitoring. Our TED Disaster Fellowship Advisory Board includes two professors from the fields of child development and psychiatry, a faculty member, a clinical psychologist, and an educator. We are grateful for the invaluable support provided by our volunteer teams.
\n
\nPsychosocial Follow-up and Support<\/b>
\nDespite the mass trauma experienced by scholarship recipients, we implemented personalized follow-up and intervention plans tailored to individual needs. Working closely with TED Schools and representatives, our efforts are supervised by professionals from relevant fields. Home visits and psychosocial support assessments were conducted for 687 students, with 153 identified as requiring further assistance. Thirty students continue to benefit from ongoing support services.
\n
\nIn this process;
\n\u2022 We organized home visits for 687 students; We carried out a study to determine the need for psychosocial support.
\n\u2022 We found that 153 students needed psychosocial support.
\n\u2022 30 students who were determined to need support\/requested support continue to benefit from their relevant studies.
\n
\nThe first field for the studies, which started in December 2023 and was carried out by the TED University Psychology Department, was determined as Hatay. In the project, which will continue face to face for 13 weeks, 2 clinical psychologists will work in the field every week. In addition, trainer training will be provided for experts who volunteer within the scope of the scholarship and implementation will be provided in other provinces.
\n
\nIn-Kind Assistance and Events<\/b>
\nIn addition to financial and psychological support, we address the educational and social needs of scholarship recipients by providing books to students who will sit national exams (8th and 12th grade students), educational materials, and organizing social activities. We contribute to the healthy development of our children with our social activity sets for preschool and primary school groups.
\n
\nWe wanted to provide our scholarship students with a special experience by allowing them to participate in the Future Stars Bursa\/Uluda\u011f Camp held in July and August 2023. Our students expressed that they had very exciting and enjoyable days at this camp, leaving with unforgettable memories. This feedback encouraged us to continue organizing similar events. Additionally, we held similar events in Ankara.
\n
\nCurrent Status: 796 Students in 9 Provinces Are Under the Protection of TED and Our Donors<\/b>
\nIn our campaign, projected to last for 8-12 years, we support 796 students across 9 provinces, with 394 students located in Hatay. Under the Scholarship for Disasters program, we operate in 9 provinces: Ankara, Istanbul, Kayseri, \u015eanl\u0131urfa, Diyarbak\u0131r, Malatya, Adana, Mersin, and Hatay. Cash scholarship payments have been made monthly to all our students since September. Monthly cash scholarships have been disbursed since September.
\n
\nStudent Tracking<\/b>
\nOur volunteer teams, receiving in-service training on \"Trauma and Grief\" and \"Communication with Families and Children after Trauma\" under the coordination of the Turkish Education Association, provide follow-up support to the children who receive scholarships. Each volunteer is responsible for monitoring 10 students and submitting progress reports on their work.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
