Established in 1928 under the leadership of Atatürk, the Turkish Education Association (TED) is the oldest civil society organization operating in the field of education. For 93 years, TED has been working to ensure equal opportunities in education with the valuable support of its donors. Donation Made by Will


The donor prepares a will in the presence of a notary, stating that their real estate will be transferred to the Turkish Education Association after their demise. Upon the donor’s death, the will is examined in court, and our Association becomes involved in this stage. Following the court’s decision, the transfer of ownership is completed in the relevant land registry office in the name of the association.

Usufruct (Usage) Right Donation

Real estate donation occurs through the transfer of ownership rights to the Turkish Education Association, while the donor retains the right of usufruct (usage) through a notation placed in the land registry. This means that although the ownership of the property is transferred to the Turkish Education Association, the donor retains the right to use, rent out, or dispose of the property until their demise. Upon the death of the holder of the usufruct right, the property fully transfers to the Turkish Education Association.

Throughout and after the donation process, the donor’s name is not disclosed without their permission and consent, and no information is shared with third parties.

Our successful yet financially disadvantaged students across Turkey receive education in 45 TED Schools with the Full Education Scholarship. This scholarship covers not only school fees but also pocket money, transportation, meals, books and stationery, clothing, and if they are boarding students, accommodation expenses. We also track the internships and career progressions of students we support until they graduate from university, and we assist them in job placement processes upon graduation. The Full Support Scholarship is a scholarship program we have developed for successful high school students attending state schools. In this system, students are supported not only with the scholarship provided but also with academic education, artistic-sporting activities. We continuously monitor the development of our students whom we continue to support with scholarships until the end of their university education and provide them with all kinds of support. As the Turkish Education Association, we aim to provide scholarships to 10,000 students until our 100th anniversary in 2028 through the “Full Education Scholarship System”.

• We regularly make phone calls to our donors and, upon their approval, arrange visits to their homes or the nursing homes they reside in to make them feel that they are not alone.
• We present a “Certificate of Appreciation” to our valued donors who have made a bequest in favor of our Association and joined the TED family by making a donation.
• Through the MARM Assistance system, we support our donors with health and daily needs. Within the scope of the system, guidance and organization services are provided by our Association, and the cost of the services received is covered by our donors after consultancy support.

24/7 Health Consultation Support: Our donors can call the MARM Assistance center at any time of the day to consult with experts about their health problems. If necessary, doctor consultations are provided, and services such as transfer ambulance and hospital accompaniment are organized. Doctor/hospital appointments and access to specialized doctors are also facilitated for our donors, and discounts are offered at contracted hospitals.

Home Services: We are also with our donors in their troubles at home. Our donors can receive support from our center for issues such as finding a locksmith or a repairman, or vehicle inspection.

Travel Services: Communication with relevant institutions is provided for your organization needs such as ticket purchase, ticket change, hotel reservation, and airport transfer upon request.
Gratitude Wall: We include the names of our real estate donors on the gratitude wall at our Headquarters, aiming to preserve their valuable memories forever.

Obituary Announcement: After the passing of our donors, we place an obituary-condolence announcement on a national newspaper in Turkey to share our sorrow with their loved ones and allow anyone who wishes to attend the funeral ceremony to do so. We also share posts on our social media accounts to keep our donor’s name alive. Depending on when the announcement is made, if it’s before the funeral ceremony, it’s called an “obituary announcement,” and if it’s after the funeral ceremony, it’s called a “condolence announcement.”
